GREENFIELD — Each year, Pioneer Valley Kennel Club holds its annual dog show at Greenfield Community College, and this year is no different.

But, the club has added a new category this time around: stuffed toy dogs.

The club will hold its show on Aug. 3 beginning at 8 a.m. at GCC. At 11 a.m., there will be a tour of the show and at 11:30 nose work will be demonstrated.

The club has also opened the show to 3- to 8-year-olds and their stuffed toys.

Children should bring their stuffed dog on a leash. There will be loaner stuffed dogs available for those who don’t have an entry.

Real dogs will once again compete in breed, obedience and rally, and the club has several educational and entertainment activities planned for the public that day.

Registration for the Stuffed Toy Dog Show will begin at 12:30 p.m. and judging will happen shortly after that show.

State Rep. Paul Mark will be one of the guest judges of the stuffed toy dogs, and prizes will be awarded to all who participate.
